As the sun sets on 2020, our U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team has wrapped up their first show season as part of the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base. It's been an amazing year watching the team form, practicing at Hill, battling through the COVID craziness and still hitting the road to represent the best #Airmen in the United States Air Force with America's premier fifth generation fighter. Congratulations to AFROTC graduate Lt Rachel Vander Kolk! She is the first woman coming straight out of pilot training to be selected to fly the F-35 Lightning II! She graduated from University of Virginia Detachment 890 (890th Cadet Wing) with a degree in Aerospace Engineering while also playing collegiate lacrosse all four years of college.
